Liorin

Liorin has been a life drawing enthusiast since 2020 after discovering art classes on zoom during lock down & has focused on the softness & strength of women, queer & femme presenting people.

After Trumps reelection in 2024 & the increasingly fascist UK government, she has used bold red background’s to bring the figures to the fore of her paintings in vibrant alcohol ink & recently added the use of collage. The first painting of the Red Series (working title) she depicted one of her models, Kawena, in a painting titled Goddess of Nope & Body Autonomy. In this pose, Kawena is seated with her face hidden & her arms crossed signifying body autonomy & consent over her image. This relates a female resistance & reclamation of the rights of marginalised genders included in 4th wave feminism of today. We bleed red, we are angry & we are together.
